Do you wear pants that are way too tight? Do you have earlobe stretching earrings? Do you have a mustache? Is anything on you Ironic? If you answered yes to one or more of these, you may actually fit in here. If not, bring your Hipster Bingo card for some entertainment.

The Porter is located in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, which is describe as an "alternative culture" neighborhood, just east of the main Five Points. There's metered parking along the streets. Remember your parking spot's number and punch it in at the kiosk, insert money, accept ticket, and you're good to go. No need to leave the ticket in the car.

The place is very narrow, but there are A LOT of tables if you walk all the way back. It's a dimly lit place. There aren't any TVs that I noticed if you're looking for a place to catch the game.

The menus are on clipboards. One for food, another for beer. The beer draft list is organized by style. There is also a lengthy bottle list, and they even have a list of vintages. There are 25-30 draft beers and a lot of bottles, quite the selection.

The food seems to be a little more upscale, which matches the area. I just had the chicken wings for a snack, but they were great.

I'll definitely come back if I get the chance, and there are a couple other good establishments nearby for a mini-crawl.

This is my local bar and I love it. The selection is outstanding, 30 taps that rotate constantly and a huge bottle selection, they usually have a cask ale on. The glassware is always perfect and the food is excellent- the french fries are the best in town. The staff is very knowledgeable, owners Molly and Nick are great folks and really love good beer. Rivals the Brick Store for the best bar in Atlanta.

What a great beer selection, it's easy to find something you haven't had before. The prices are reasonable, the service is very good and the bar tenders know their beers. Beer is always served in the proper glass at the proper temperature. A great place to go for a great beer experience. I have only eaten there once, but the food was very good, I plan to make this place a regular stop whenever I am in Atlanta. A true beer lover's bar.

The Porter is a new beer bar nestled in Atlanta’s Little 5 Points area. Free parking is available behind the restaurant and metered parking may be found in front.

There is a large bar on the right as you enter. Table seating can be found past the bar and the restaurant opens up in the rear.

The draft beer list is impressive, with almost 25 items-all quality, no junk. The bottle list is also long-again all quality, no junk. Beer is served in the correct size/style of glass and at the proper temperature. Prices are in the reasonable range.

Service was attentive. Requests for water are granted with ice water served in 1-quart Mason jars.

Food is good to great and prices are reasonable. They serve mussels-always a plus to me-but they were out when we went. A couple seated nearby got a shrimp BLT and I really regretted my order because it looked incredible. My wife got a chocolate dessert and she loved it. They are supposed to begin serving brunch October 2008.

All in all The Porter is very good with the potential to become a great beer destination.
