I've never been to a place that was more disorganized with their beer before. The back wall of this place was lined with coolers, each cooler had all your crappy light beers in it and like one or two 6'rs of CB in EVERY cooler. Why all their CB wasn't all in one cooler is beyond me. Besides, that the beer selection was surprising here. Bombers are located near the front of the store in a middle isle. They had an OK selection but surprises were found like FFF behemoth and blackheart, 5-6 rogues. Be sure to look in the cooler near the front too for bombers. 6'r selections included rarities for the area like horny goat. They also had acme, stone, and flying dog. This place is a quick stop for a bomber but don't expect anything too fancy from here.

This is more of a neighborhood shop for locals than a beer destination.

Most of the craft was on a couple of warm shelves, but there was a nice concentration of bombers in a few fridges near the entrance. In the back coolers there wasn't much craft to be had cold. Selection was good but not especially extensive, more of a place to pick up staples like Two Hearted or Gumballhead. There were a few from FFF, Bells, Southern Tier, Green Flash, and a few others, nothing especially limited. The only Founders was Centennial IPA, didn't see any others. There were a few quality Belgian staples too, but again not an extensive mix.

The cashier was pleasant enough. I'd only stop here if I lived on the south end of Plainfield and didn't feel like making the trek to Binnys on the north end of town.

This place is about 4 minutes from my house and I always wondered if they had anything worthwhile in there. About 2 months ago I wandered in for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of good beer in there! The place was a mess, however, as a new owner had just taken over. So, for all I know the good beer selection is a new thing...

The owner/manager guy is Indian (his name is Bob) and really seems to want to do a good job for all of us beer aficionados. He has told me on multiple occasions that if I don't see what I want, he will take requests and try to get them from his distributors.

In addition to the usual wine, liquor, and swill beer, this place has a great selection of regional craft brews as well as fine imported stuff. They have good stuff from Three Floyds, Southern Tier, Great Divide, New Holland, New Belgium, Founders, Goose Island, Rogue, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Unibroue, etc. Also, a bunch of German stuff (which I am not really into), a big Samuel Smith selection, and Belgian ales like Duvel, Bournem, Augustijn, Gulden Draak, Leffe, Hoogarden, Petrus, etc.

The selection is decently good compared to a mega-store like Binny's, and it is unbelievably great in the beer desert that is the Joliet/Plainfield/Romeoville area. If you are in the neighborhood, stop in and see Bob, I promise it is worth the time!
