Wow, I get to review this one first. Let's start by saying that I have been going to the tours here since back in the day when it was the Blueridge Brewing company, then Wild Goose, and now Flying Dog. So I am pretty familiar.

There is no food, and the tours take about 30 minutes. Quality of the tour depends on who is working that day, but most of the guys/girls are pretty knowledgable.

They operate on a $5 gets you a pint glass and then you can drink your face off until about 4 oclock. It's a pretty nice deal and they usually have about 10-12 beers on selection. The quality of their beers is above average, if you like IPA's, they seem to have about 4 different kinds on tap everytime i go there.

In the summer they have a patio area to hang out on.

recommendation: If you are near frederick, MD, come on down. the tours run from 1:30-4 on saturdays (other days, i'm not sure, never been on another day). the beer is pretty decent, the workers are always cool, and the crowd is alright. Not the best atmosphere, but it's still a nice afternoon.

if you're hungry afterwards ask someone where "frisco's" is. It's a deli/restaurant down the st that is cheap and good, plus it's the only place to eat in the direct vacinity.

UPDATE: I went again (it'd been a few months) in late January 09. The tour has become a madhouse. There had to be about 100 people crammed into the room. It was like being at a very busy bar on a friday night. Hard to get the beers and they limit you now on how many you can get. Beer is still good, but our little secret is no more. It's just way too packed for my likes, but still worth the time if you're heading through the area i guess.
