My review of Shores Inn may be biased by the fact that this is by far my go-to bar, but bear with me and take solace in the fact that all I say here is true.

Allow me to begin with the reason we all use TBMP...the beer! Whatever style of beer you crave, Shores will have something to suit you. They carry on hand over 100 bottled beers at any given time, ranging from American macro garbage like Bud to first class like Chimay. For the local drinker (not the traveler, sorry), there is something called the Hall of Foam. This is a sort of challenge, where you become an inductee after trying 150 different beers from their selection. It took my a little less than 9 months to complete, but well worth it! Their prices for some of the beers, such as the Chimay's, can seem kind of outrageous, but hey, split them with a friend and move on to something else. You can find a sample list of what they carry (though I'm not sure if its been updated in a while) at the website provided. Also, happy hour from 3-6=$1 off any drink!

I truly love the atmosphere at Shores Inn. The crowd is incredibly eclectic, ranging from the young 20-somethings, to the middle agers, all the way to a great old man who loves to have fun with the karaoke machine Sunday nights. A lot of regulars can be seen around the bar, with new faces all the time as well. Sometimes there's a DJ, but most nights the jukebox keeps the place filled with music. The patio is great during the summer months. There is Golden Tee and hunting games if you're into that sort of thing. All in all, everyone there is trying to have a good time.

Overall, the service is pretty decent. I'm not going to go into too much detail here, but the staff seem to have pretty good heads on their shoulders. They get the order right, and if they don't, it's corrected immediately. As with any place, you're going to have the occasional poor waiter/waitress, but this cannot be avoided (unless you're in the so much you know who knows what they're doing!) The only thing that I really have to complain about is that some of the waitstaff know too little about the different beers. In a place like this that offers a great beer selection, you would think the staff would be more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the selection.

The food, in my mind, is over-average as far as normal bar food goes. They are a full service restaurant in addition to being a bar. They make a fantastic patty melt if you're into that sort of thing, and you can't beat their buy one get one free appetizer happy hour from 3-6 every day of the week! Try the mozzarella logs...you won't regret it!

Now for the little stuff. There is a non-smoking, family section for when you bring the kids. I've actually used their wireless connection to get some homework done, but also functions well for your fantasy draft. Parking is usually pretty simple to find, and free. You will not regret making a trip to Shores Inn if you're traveling through, and if you're local and love beer, you may have found a new hideout!
