Shoreline in Huntington (arguably) has the reputation for having the best selection of beers on Long Island. That was certainly the case when I came to the Island about six years ago. Since then the other Beer and Soda stores on the Island (notably Big Z's) have been doing their best to snatch the crown away from Shoreline as Long Island's most comprehensive craft beer outlet.

On my first trip out to Shoreline I was blown away by all the Belgian beers they had to offer. I'm a fan of Cantillon and so I had to buy one of each -- and they had something like five different varieties of Cantillon including the organic gueuze which was quite tasty.

I also found a good selection of German beers, enough to do an interesting flight of wheat beers with an early incarnation of the Long Island Beer Enthusiasts.

Having a growler filling station is all the rage at the moment. New filling stations have gone in at Bellport Beer & Soda, Big Z's, and Village Beverage. Last time I was in Shoreline there were two taps pouring.

Over the years Shoreline has had someone knowledgeable on staff to assist the craft beer crowd, so if you have any questions just ask.

If you don't mind walking, Shoreline is about a mile from the Huntington train station.
