02/2010: They have a bottle list now, about 35 options, generally 3 beers per craft brewer. Metro Kolsch on draft. Relaxed enough until an MSU pub crawl schoolbus rolled up, we quickly bailed...

12/2009: Gave it another shot, and was more impressed. They had a fresh Daisy Cutter tap, and when I mentioned the DFH 90 tasted old, they brought another beer over on the house. There was talk of new bottled beers (saw a Dreadnaught) and a printed beer list in coming weeks. The crowd was ok, but didn't seem all that into the beers. Overall it's a good pit-stop on Lincoln, if you're in the area.

2009-10-29
I've been here twice, once in the spring back when they opened, and again recently to see if they maintained the beer selection. I was very optimistic the 1st time, when all the drafts were fresh, and they even had Night Stalker on tap (!!). Sadly, the quality had declined somewhat. My friend and I ordered different beers on tap, and they both tasted faded like the lines hadn't been run or cleaned in awhile.

Atmosphere was nice during the day, sort of french door windows in the front, that let in some light. By night though, they have bright flourescent lights, and the acoustics are terrible for a crowd. Mainly a young Lincoln Park yuppie crowd, looking for the next trendy place to hang out at until the next one comes along. The bartender was pretty slow with the drinks, after we waited 10 min. for service.

Selection was pretty good, though the bottles in the cooler seemed a little light compared to when I first visited, and what's on their website. On tap: Vitus, Cane & Ebel, 90 min, Ed Fitzgerald, several others, about 16 taps in all.

So, mixed reviews here. Go during the day if you're walking by, but don't go out of your way. I'll give it another chance...

This is a great little neighborhood bar!! Awesome beer selection!! They have KALAMAZOO beer (Bell's esentially!!).... Tavern 33 also has many imports on tap and in bottles.... They have Delerium Tremens on tap!! They usually have all the current/relevant games on the many flatscreen tv's... great place, great people, great fun!! Tavern 33 also has live music on Wednesday nights!! Andrew Fraker plays there!! He's great and the night really turns into a blast when he's playing!!
