Can't add much more to the comment aleady posted about this place. The best way I can describe it is, when I first walked in the taps in front of the bar were Bud, Bud Light, Coors etc, the only micro brew even showing was Fat Tire. Then I looked in the corner ad there were the 4 J Fargo taps. I got a sampler of red, dark bock, IPA and Belgian Wheat. If I had to choose one, I would choose the Wheat but it was simply the best of the worst options. The IPA and Bock could not have had less flavor.

I didn't try the food, but it was a pretty extensive looking menu.

One other item, I generally like to buy glasswear at most breweries. They did have a nicer quality growler. The didn't mention up front, but a empty growler was an outrageous $34. It is nicer quality and unusual which was why I purchased it, but be mindful if buying merchandise at this place.

This is honestly going to be my shortest review. This place needs to be shut down. The beer here should not be called beer. Its all horribly off. Each beer tastes the same. Plasticy and gross. One beer had s**t floating around it in that didn't look like it belonged there. Atmosphere was like a cheap diner trying to look nice. Service was the worst. It took forever for someone to take our order and then the waitress was just like you'd see in a B movie at a diner with the line 'whatt ya havin?' while cow chomping her gum. Complete monotone, no check to see if everything was OK. The food was at best a little better than a TV dinner. Well that sums it up. I hate saying this because I probably shouldn't but don't go here. That will only keep them open.

Well, you win some, you lose some. I wish I could do a "Michael Jackson" and find **something** good to say about this place. Honestly, how can both breweries in this modest town be so terrible (the other being Main St. Brewery)? We were glad that they had posted their menu on the 'net, since good looking is a vegetarian and there wasn't a stitch that she could eat. (We had an excellent meal just east on Main St. at Koko's Friendly Pub - Dolores River brew on tap, fresh New SW style food and nothing is fried - they cook on BBQ grills on the deck!).

Ah well, back to J. Fargo's... having eaten elsewhere we stopped in for a sampler and a pint. There were three house brews on tap and all were completely undrinkable. The bock had just run out, so I'm giving them one point for the beer on the chance that the bock was drinkable. Plastic phenolics, ethyl acetate, and dry yeast off flavors dominated the beers. I don't know about you, but I prefer fingernail polish on my fingernails! We politely declined a pint of house brew after tasting the wares and switched to a New Belgium product. While we sat there for 15 minutes trying to get the bartender's attention at this six-stool bar, we witnessed him getting frustrated with the over-foaming coming from one tap, so he topped it off from another tap - with an entirely different style of beer. We'll usually give a place a second chance if they might have been having on off-night, but this place doesn't deserve a second chance.
