Of all the breweries I've been to this one is by far my favorite.

We sat down in the back yard which was a huge lawn with picnic tables, a live band and lights strung up overhead. Couldn't think of a better spot to hang out on a nice day.

Not to mention all the beers I've tried here were amazing. Make sure to get something you can only get at the brewery!

In the summer this is the place to be, huge tables in the courtyard make it a great place to gather with a group of friends and enjoy some quality beer in the sun.
I love the seasonal releases from Lagunitas esp Little Somethin Wild and Little Somethin Somethin but my favorite by Lagunitas and very nearly favorite IPA of all time is Hop Stoopid. 102 IBU bitter and fruity to the max, best all around drinkable anytime hoppy beer. No hop head should miss out on the opportunity to have this beer on draft.
For food I had a fancy cheese and fruit plate which was delicious with a great representation of local cheese snobbery. My friends had the sandwiches which looked tasty and they seemed to enjoy.
Service can be a bit slow when they are busy.

I visited the new Lagunitas brewpub this last Sunday. It was a hot afternoon and the place was busy. All the people were having a good time. There were all ages there enjoying the food and live music (a folky/blues guitar player). The patio was great. The service was excellent. The food was great too. I highly recommend a visit to this place.

The location is off the main in Petaluma, but otherwise a great place to spend an hour or two.

Lagunitas is hidden at the back of a light industrial park. As of now, they don’t have a lot of up-front visitor facilities (though they are going to open a pub next door soon) but they do a tasting tour every weekday at 3pm. The tasting is currently done in a very funky bar area on an enclosed mezzanine that overlooks the bottling line. Think college dorm lounge to get an idea of the decor.

They’ve got a bottling line that does both 12 and 22 ounce bottles, a Bavarian-made brew system (and some humorous momentos from the Germans who came and spent several weeks installing the system), an elaborate, very well contained grain grinder, and some enormous insulated fermenters (500 bbl!) outside.

Lagunitas beers are assertive and quite good. And their operating philosophy is personal, humorous, and non-corporate, which makes this a great place to visit for a tour.
