linkParis and beer: two terms that go together like Switzerland and deep-sea diving. It's been a while since I was last in the City of Light, and since then a number of new Frogs have opened their doors, but back at the end of the last century, the Frog & Rosbif in Les Halles was an oasis for the wine-weary traveller.
The beers, first and foremost, are cracking. Prices are higher than you'd expect for a similar sort of establishment elsewhere, but represent superb value for Paris. The city has much better, and cheaper, culinary delights on offer, but if it's English pub fare you need, then this open and airy pub is the place to get it.
Sure, it can get rather loud, especially if there's a match on, but in the early evening it's a great place to plan the night ahead over a couple of pints. Worth going out of your way for, if only because it's so unusual for Paris.
