This location is a bit hard to locate using the street address. If you park on the front street, you can walk down a long alleyway to the entrance or you can park on the side street and walk on a path along the tracks. I was too early for tasting but there is a good size tap room with a bar and tall table seating as well as outside tables on nice weather days. There are eight taps and bottle sales as well as WiFi. I picked up bottles of Starry Night Stout, Nut Brown Ale and IPA (Island Pale Ale) that I’ll be working on later.

Island Brewing Company is located on the main drag - Linden Avenue - in sleepy Carpinteria, self-proclaimed home of the "World's Safest Beach" for what that's worth.

The site brews for local bars and restaurants and serves up it's six core beers as well as a few seasonal specialties at it's tasting room/bar located just on the north side of the railroad tracks about 100 feet or so east of Linden Ave. For parking there is a City lot across the street on the other side of Linden. This lot also serves as the City's Amtrak stop so you could take the train from points north and south and drink your ass off before boarding another train back home.

The tasting room has a bar and some inside and a few outside tables, and is certainly a hangout for locals. When I visited there was a hippy-looking woman in the corner nursing a baby and some kids running around, so it is sort or family friendly.

The beer is clean, fresh and tasty! It is served in a few different sizes or you could choose to get a sampler of small glasses to try all of their beers. A standard pint is $4. They also have 22-oz. bottles as well as 5 and 15-gallon kegs available for "takeout" or parties.

The downside of the place is that pretzels are all the food they are allowed by health code to serve. They can't even allow you to bring your own food to the site.
