Husk Hardware House is in a great old building in downtown Fayetteville on the revitalized Hay Street. Wood floors and a spacious dining area characterize the interior. The brewing area is inclosed in glass and allows a full view of the brewing operations. I was at the brew pub prior to the dinner rush and had the restaurant area almost to myself. I ordered a flight of the 6 beers currently being brewed. I was really not impressed with the flagship ale - Level Headed German Blonde Ale - but found the Ale Yes, an IPA and the Sledgehammer Stout quite good. I did not have any food during this outing but locals have told me that the food is good. I did find the service a bit slow for the number of patrons in the pub. The waitress was great once I got service and she was kind enough to call the master brewer over to my table for a short discussion of the products. I will definitely go back for a brew.

Huske Hardware House is a genuine Brewpub once more. Good news, yes, but what about the taste and quality, etc.?
As I walked thru the oaken double door, I was promptly greeted by the smiling hostess and was directed to the stunning,hand-crafted bar built with hardwood rails and a smooth surface gleaming as only a premium Red Granite expance can. Upon hearing my desire to try the various micro-brews on tap,the bar-tender wisely poured me 'the Sampler', consisting of all 6 of their ales.
I was told that all were original recipes and that they were brewed in the British style, live, never filtered. Usually, as in other brewpubs I have visited, I expected to find 1 favorite and the rest so-so,take 'em or leave 'em types
After slowly tasting all of them, I found to my surprise that they were all excellent beers! With great difficulty, I selected a "Farmhouse Ale", brewed with Franco-Belgian malts and Strisselspalt hops. Another tied for 1st place was the "Level-headed German Blonde", brewed with German Pilsner malts and Hersbrucker hops. This beauty is actually a Kolsch-style ale; deliciously refreshing. The other 4 brews employ British malts and hops; they are superb ales in their own right.
I have visited HHH several times since that delectable 1st nite and have tried several menu items, all food was delicious and can be paired with the top-notch ales. Indeed, each Wednesday is "Meet-the-Brewer Day, in which a special firkin of cask ale is broached by Julie Bagget,a most remarkable Brewer, as unique as her incredible ales.
Outdoor dining is available or experience the "floating upper level" with a view of downtown city life.

Spread the word; HHH is definately Brewing!!! PS, 6 ales served in imperial pint glasses [20 oz.]

First time today in the newly remodeled Huske. First thing one notices is how much brighter and cleaner seeming it is inside. The place was always loud as heck and still is, but clean and loud beats dirty and loud by a mile.

The wait for a server was extremely long. Once she came my order was taken in an instant and the food came almost immediately, I had to look around and make sure I wasn't sitting in a Mexican restaurant by mistake. The food was simply stellar. I opted for a half chicken sandwich and a cup of black bean soup and they were so good I'd have no problem coming here simply for the food.

That turns out to be a good thing. Due to them not getting their brewery permit until recently the selection is all products distributed by Bud. There is practically nothing on the draft list of 11 brews I would want to have except for perhaps the two Kona beers. This is sure to improve and I'll give it a run of the mill selection until I hear otherwise. The selection which has been described by the brewer will be excellent, but for now it doesn't even hit mediocre.

After eating I waited and waited for the check which actually never came, the waitress finally returned and I cashed out with the CC before even seeing the check. They need to do something about the draft list if the beer is not going to be house brews soon and the waitstaff needs to learn how to give better service. Another glass of water would have been the least she could have done.
