I was happy to spot this place while wandering the beer desert of Bourbon Street.

As soon as you walk in you will notice the long row of tab handles. Great to see a nice selection & I think most folks will find something they will want to try. They were out of about 5 choices. The lines seem well maintained.

The bar is rather dark in that nice New Orleans fashion. They have a couple of flat screens so it's an ok place to catch a game (ever notice how the quarter really lacks a good sports bar, or perhaps I've never found one)

Our bartender was plastered and was rude to a few of the patrons. After insulting a guy for ordering a Bud, the bartender was incensed by not getting a tip...

While we were there I had a Sierra Nevada 24 oz tap and the guy I was with had a domestic bottle. The tab was $15. I swear the bartender was making up prices so he could build in a tip. One of the strangest tenders I've encountered.

I would come back as you really don't have many choices for good beer in the quarter & to check to see what the actual prices are....

I'm really surprised to see this place listed here, but hey! since it is, I'll review it. True, they have 40 some odd taps, but most are forgettable yellow beers. You'll find a few gems. I happen to really like one of the local beers, Abita Andygator, billed as a barley wine, but reminds me more of a tripel/strong golden belgian. They've got Chimay tripel, but you'll pay $10 for a ten ounce plastic cup.

I'm glad to see this place (and it's counterpart on the other end of Bourbon street) because it gives us serious beer folk the option of getting a decent beer in a place that values quantity over quality.

Couldn't believe my eyes as I was traveling through the freaks on Bourbon Street to come across a place with multiple taps and a decent selection. Most of Bourbon Street is cheap big cups without even the name of the beer listed. The kicker of Beerfest is the price. A small cup, maybe 12-14 ounces is $5 and a large one is $10. The beers on the wall were pretty sedate, but I was able to drain the tap of SN Celebration. As others in my group circled nervously outside I had to leave and was not able to count all the taps, but they were pushing at least 40 selections. I seem to recall seeing a bottle cooler as well.

The place was dark and smoky and not some place to pass hours of time, but at least a place to duck into to get off Bourbon Street long enough to grab a good beer.
