Stopped in here today with time to kill in the area. Didn't know what to expect, but saw the good reviews here and made note of it. Stonewood feels like your typical chain restaurant, with some assorted retro beer decorations. The layout of the dining area was identical to Ted's Montana Grill, maybe it came out of the same catalog.

The island bar in the center is flanked by a dozen flatscreen tv's. 32 taps, but wait, only 16 beers. Of those, maybe 3 qualify as craft. Bells Brown, Goose IPA, and Franziskaner. Open the drinks menu booklet, and the bartender has to flip through the 20 odd pages to find the beers amidst the shots, margaritas, daily specials and general clutter.

50 bottles, 5 craft beers. Two Hearted yes, but not much else besides a couple Sam Smiths and Sam Adams. If your family/football buddies/business outing brings you here, you can survive, but no self-respecting beer geek would seek out this place for the selection.

I also love me some funky disco, but the music they were piping in was more 90's crap like Richard Marx... lame.

To say this place is a bastion of craft beer is like saying McDonalds is the pinnacle of fine American cuisine...

2018: Wound up here again, the beer selection is slightly improved but still 2/3 macro. Alter, Miskatonic, Rev, Daisy Cutter, Bells and Rev on draft. Beer can chicken was a huge portion, but over salted. Service was limited to drink/food order and serving the food, delivering the check. Didn't really interact much.

This lively bar is located just north of Higgins road on Mall Drive (the southern frontage entrance to Woodfield Mall). I was glad to see that this good beer bar was busy with many patrons. My first impression once I bellied up to the bar was that many people were just drinking PBR, Bud or Miller bottles but I felt differently as I watched pint after pint being poured from draft throughout the night.

I would call this place lively with an upbeat crowd and overall the audio of the night was people cheering for sports on TV - lots of folks chatting it up and below average music blaring...don't get me wrong, I love f'in loud music it just that if its going to be jammin' with high decibels, play something good and worth listening to not Kid Rock and certainly not Diana Ross (on a side note I do love disco).

The layout of this place was big and open on one floor with tables and stools all around, a few dining tables scattered and a large oval shaped bar. There was also service out on the patio but still no smoking.

Service was a little slow to start, they definitely had their hands full - after a short moment they were there ready to serve a frosty beer. I would suggest asking for a dessert and dinner menu as the food is good here! A little pricey but good!

The selection of beers was average with a handful of excellent craftbrew bottles(Samuel Smiths...) and on Draft(Dead Guy Ale).

For sure drop in as times are good, beer is good and service is the best! Open late too, kitchen closes at midnight Sun-Thurs. nights....bar is open until 1am too those days.

This place is awesome. I am here in the city of Lombard, Chicago, IL from south TX on a business trip and some friends and I ate there tonight. The service was outstanding. Our waitress (Ashely) was amazing. The service was excellent. There are tons of tvs in the place and you can watch just about any sporting event you want. The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great. What more could you ask for? I would and will come back here.
