Chandler has a lively downtown in the evenings and the San Tan Brewing Co. was a great spot to enjoy the mood. There was live music when I showed up and the crowd was vibrant but not over-whelming. Their beers tend towards the hoppy side, but I still found a few smooth, darker beers to enjoy. The Sun Devil Ale is a robust American-style Ale that went very well with the hot soft pretzels.

I've only had a chance to visit SanTan once, but it was a good trip. Had the sampler of all their brews, and, while good, I was not over-awed. I prefer the quality and atmosphere of Four Peaks, but I will hopefully have a chance to visit SanTan again at some point. Food was good - better than most pubs, and atmosphere was nice. The IPA was excellent, and the Strawberry Wheat was refreshing and different. The staff was friendly, though I hoped for more beer knowledge from a brew pub bar staff.

This is a comfortable pub with a long bar backed by windows looking out to the covered patio. The glass enclosed brewroom is visible across from the bar with tall and normal dining tables distributed in between. Six house brews were listed on the tap list but unfortunately the Gordo Stout that I’d heard about was out. I did enjoy the Big Red Ale and the Hopshock IPA served in the signature 18 oz had blown β€œpints”. The menu includes salads, sandwiches, pizza, and some southwestern items but we had just come from brunch so didn’t sample on this visit. There is parking in the small public lot out front and on the side street.

A great addition to the SE Valley area. Live music occasionally. The quality of the food and beers are somewhat mixed. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are downright lousy though. I feel that will improve in time as they are still getting their first year bugs out. A nice patio area that is great in the winter but not really for summer use. The brewer/owner is a nice guy who takes a lot of pride in the place. Also have a guest tap that is nice to see.

The San Tan Brewing Co is located in the old Valley National Bank building in downtown Chandler and is a welcome addition to the southeast valley. There is some outdoor seating outside of the bar and on the front of the building. The owner is a former brewer at Four Peaks in Tempe and has done a good job with both the food and beer here. All of the beers are served in 18 oz hand blown glassware (resembling the new Sam Adams glassware) from a local glass blowing shop in Chandler.

The Gordo Stout is the best of the bunch so far and the Hefeweizen is also quite good. All of the beers are clean and well made, but I prefer lots of citrusy hop character in IPA's which the current IPA seems to lack.

The food here is quite good. I really enjoyed the Stuffed Aegean Burger (Fresh choice beef stuffed w/ marinated artichoke, olives & spinach, topped with pesto aioli) on my last visit and the Chandler Club is pretty tasty as well.

Service has been good on all of our visits so far.

San Tan Brewing is ranked the #3 place in Phoenix to get beer by www.hopsandbarleyblog.com!

This is my "local," now that there's a brew pub in the East Valley with a worthy selection of beer. Thier Hopshock IPA and Gordo Stout are both excellent. Their first seasonal Winter Warmer was extremely smooth for a 9+% ABV ale.

The food is also quite good. I recommend the stuffed burgers; my wife prefers the crab cakes.

The service is improving every trip (they've only been open for two months as of this reveiw) while they work out the kinks with the new staff.

Trivia every Thursday, and Growlers to go. What more do you need from a local pub?
