Fegley's Brew Works opened in 1998 in the struggling steel city of Bethlehem PA. Bethlehem made significant recovery in the years since, and the brewpub did very well. In 2007 Fegley's opened a second location, the Allentown Brew Works. I visited in April 2011, and enjoyed several delicious beers: "Steelgaarden Wit", "Hefeweizen", "Space Monkey Raspberry", "Blueberry Belch", "Insidious Imperial Stout", "Hop Explosion IPA", and the best was "Hop'solutely Triple IPA". I also tried their "Amber Lager", "Knuckleball Blonde", "Monkey Wrench Saison", and "Pawn Shop Porter", which were just average or below. The Allentown location bottles some of its beers, and had a better selection than the Bethlehem location. Check it out and try a sampler!

Been here quite a few times over the years. Beer selection is pretty good, they usually have something for every taste. The Hop Explosion IPA is one of my favorite IPA's. The atmosphere is ok, kind of dark and the bar is back-lit which is kind of strange. The bar service is good but the service at the tables can be lacking sometimes. The food is pretty good, better than most brew pubs. Overall a pretty nice place to drink beer. Also, there is plenty of parking in a lot off 8th street which is free on nights and weekends.

Been there a few dozen times, I live 2 miles away. Never had a problem with parking, there are a few garages with free night and weekend parking within 2 blocks. Has a club in the basement, biergarten, restaurant, banquet floor, and free tours on saturday at noon. Food is great and menu always changing. The flagship beers never let me down and seasonals are worth the trip when they come out. I recommend the Rude Elfs Reserve during winter.

Stopped in during a quick little ride on the bike down 309 from the house. Fairly easy to find, and lots of downtown parking (looked like it was close to a parking garage as well).

I remember there being a good bit of selection, I ended up only having 2 (that's my little rule when riding the motorcycle). I had an IPA and their amber lager, both of which were descent enough, nothing great. Seemed the IPA was well balanced, though. Nice amount of citrus 'bite' from the hops to balance the malt. The amber was definitely drinkable too, but nothing to write home about (I guess good enough to write online about though!).

There were some interesting ones I wish I had been able to try...like their raspberry saison. There was also an oatmeal stout that had kicked the night before (bartender informed me that it was the popular tap the night before).

It was a nice atmosphere, I was there on a sunday afternoon and hardly anyone else there. Looks like it probably gets busy at night, very trendy looking.

Only real downer to the place was that freaky back-lit bar. They have a transparent bar surface with lighting coming up through it, and just sitting there for 20 minutes was starting to be really annoying. I'll just have to get a table next time, or maybe just head to Bethlehem, were their same beer is on tap at Bethlehem Brew Works (I figured that out later).

Overall, not a bad place...I'll probably stop in again when I'm in the neighborhood.

This person needs 3 or more reviews on the site for their scores to start counting.

The place is easy to find and there is parking in the rear. Been there several times and always had good service and the food is very good. Atmosphere is a little too dark and cold for my taste but overall pretty cool. The backlit lighted bar looks great from a distance but blinding and really annoying when seated there. Most of the beers I've tried have been very good. Their rendition of the old Allentown Nueweilers beer recipe is excellent. One of my favorites anywhere. Any concern about safety in Allentown is just a bad rap the city can't seem to shake. Worth the trip.

Definitely a pain in the ass to get to. Parking is difficult but we lucked out and managed to get a spot right in front of the place. Upon entering I got no warm & fuzzy vib. The place is too "industrial" for my tastes. I had a bock which wasn't bad and another beer that wasn't too memorable. The bartenders seemed to be too busy bird-dogging the young ladies at the bar. Maybe if I worked close by and could walk there it might be better. All in all, it was too much effort to go to a place I did not feel comfortable in. I doubt I'll be back.

Allentown Brew Works is located on a one way street in Allentown, PA. It was not difficult to find, but could be a pain to park in front of on a busy day. Allentown is not the safest of cities so plan to park close if going.

The place was spotlessly clean and our service was almost TOO attentive. The guy tried really, really hard and gave excellent service, with some beer knowledge, but with a bit more beer knowledge he could have been perfect. Of course if I return I would prefer to have him working my table so I'd know my service would be working toward perfection.

The beer list was ok, but a few were MIA and only 8 or so were listed. Apparently more were in the tanks and waiting upstairs, but it would be nice if everything was at hand instead of a wink-wink nudge-nudge type of arrangement. The food here was much better than the sister establishment over in Bethlehem.

This was a really nice pub, one I would visit again.
