High Street Brewery & Cafe is in a remodled classic old house in a partially residential area in Eugene, not too far from the University of Oregon. There are a couple picnic tables out front and a great outdoor patio and deck in the back with more picnic tables. The main room and a couple smaller rooms on the left are filled with dark wooden tables and chairs. The small bar area is on the right with a few tall chairs in front of the copper-topped bar and a tiny table. The walls and ceilings are beige with a dark green swatch painted at the top of the walls with classic McMenamin's odd-ball painted designs (such as various ears in the bar area).

The brewery itself is a fairly cramped space in the basement.

There are ten beers on tap. This is a fairly large selection, but the beers themselves aren't quite in the top league of craft beers. It's still worth visiting, however, as the feeling inside is a lot like being in a house and contributes to the true pub feel.

The menus is fairly generic pub, but there are still some inspired choices, such as the excellent tomatillo salsa & chips, and the superb happy hour carnitas tacos we tried.

The Pils made on site was good. The ffod menu had pizza breads. Chicken curry soup is very good as was the Carnitas burrito. the hybrid beer they had on special was like a scotch ale but is a mix between the Hammerhead and an IPA, it's called heavy hand. Same coasters as other McMenamins. Similar to the Thompson House but smaller without the upstairs space. Food was good and portions were good and priced fair too. Ipa was different than other McMenamins and more hoppy. The waitress gave good service and knew her beers. They had an Oatmeal Stout that was sweet and on Nitro and was good. Cool place to visit, I would go back if in the area again.

I like the way they refitted this older home into a cozy and inviting brewpub.

The outside is very attractive and loaded with flowers. Reminds me a bit of the pubs in England. There is a small patio as you walk up the steps to enter.

You walk directly into the dining area and it has both tables and booths. There are two unisex bathrooms off to the left. There is a lot of the original woodwork still in place.

The copper topped bar is in a separate room to your right. It seats about 6. There is one other small two-person table. Can you say cozy?

The kitchen is to the left as you face the bar. I find it kind of fun to watch the guys work.

It has friendly service and customers. Very well versed in beer and good conversation.

There is a Patio in back; bartender claims it’s the best in the city.

As for beer, I would say 4 specials and 6 regulars. Pints are $4.15 and glasses are $2.40. I really liked the Purple Haze Boysenberry beer, the porter was a total miss.

I did not try the food but will next time as it looked and smelled really good.

Comfortable old house with lots of brew. We stopped in for a desert on the front porch. I had a house brewed porter and the designated driver had a black/tan brownie which made her very happy (Rule No. 1). There are two tables on the front porch and many more outside on the back deck and patio. Inside there is seating in several rooms plus a small bar area. They seemed to have most of the McMenamin's brews but it was hard to tell how many of the taps were operational. The menu has a nice selection of salads, burgers and other pub fare. Parking is on the street.
