Stopped in for a healthy lunch and a sample of the brews. The summer seasonal was light with a pronounced ginger flavor - very enjoyable. The Pub Ale was buttery (diacetyl) and not to our liking. The IPA was catty and resinous with a nice hard water character, essentially a West Coast IPA. They also had favorites like Green Flash in the bottle. Staff were friendly, helpful, and the menu had lots of options for those tired of the usual fried grub.

I randomly stumbled across Gunnison Brewing while looking for a place to eat in town (which is beautiful, by the way) while passing through and couldn't resist stopping in.
The place is small, but really nice and very inviting. Lots of wood, big windows out to the street, and a long but not obtrusive bar. Very Colorado. There were drinkers there, but also families and large groups.
The beer selection was disappointing: three homebrews on tap. The most appealing sounding was the "Pub Ale," which is effectively a light ESB. They also had the lager and, I believe, stout on tap. I had a taste of the stout and, honestly, it was one of the sorrier stouts I've tasted.
The ESB went down well with the burger I had though, which itself was relatively small but was very tasty and well-prepared.
Even though the beer wasn't amazing, I would go back just because it's a very cool place and the food is good. Also, if you don't like the house brews, they have several other excellent beers on tap and in bottles.
