I found this place listed on Beer Mapping, so I had to make a visit. The Elephant Room is a subterranean bar. You go down a flight of stairs into a very dark bar. There are tables at the front under the small transom windows that are street level. This is the only natural light.

The bar must be 60' long with a waitress coral about 1/4 of the way down (this must be a Texas thing, it is literally a fenced off area). There are tables down the middle and against the opposite wall. There is a small stage at the rear. Check out all the dollar bills on the ceiling.

They have a very friendly wait staff with that laid back Austin vibe. The bartender is very much a beer guy.

They offer 24 taps about 1/2 are decent. Offerings from St. Arnolds, Live oak, Chimay, Kwak, Schneider Weiss, & Flying Dog were the highlights.

Free live music every Monday. They had a Texas swing group that played from 6:30 to 8:30. Good young musicians. They were nice guys and really into beer.
