This was a fun find in the little downtown area of Menasha. I have been to Club Liquor & Beer on several occassions since my mother lives close by.

As anyone who reads my reviews might guess, I come for the beer. So I have seen that there is wine and other liquor available, but I have never purchased any.

The beer selection is very respectable for a small store in a small town. They have a good selection of Wisconsin breweries such as New Glarus, Tyranena, Capitol, and more. Michigan is also represented with Bell's and Darkhorse. There are many more and for me the hardest part is picking only some of it to take home.

The store is crowded and the beer is spread around in a couple of different areas. Some is in coolers, some is not. I guess the hunt is part of the fun. On one visit I actually found two six packs of Bell's Hopslam! This is impossible to get in the Chicagoland area because everyone buys it up so fast. Of course I snatched those up.

I don't expect a lot of service from a beer store. I am pretty well versed in beer and I don't need information or recommendations. All I really need is for my interaction at the checkout to go smoothly. That is where my visits to Club Liquor go downhill. The woman that is usually running the counter when I have been there seems like she would rather be doing something else. She is rather old and I wish she could be doing something more fun with her golden years. Unfortunately, I don't have any control over that. But she is the face of Club Liquor for me and it is not a pleasant one.
I am not just buying a six pack. I typically walk out with 6 to 8 six packs. I would think that they would appreciate customers that actually buy something. Instead I get credit cards and pens tossed in my general direction. I begrudgingly get boxes to carry out my purchases. I get none of the pleasantries associated with retail transactions.

Due to the convenient location and the good beer selection, I will probably be back. I just hope the staff finds a happier place in their life.
