As of late 2011, Gordon-Biersch operates 33 brewpub locations throughout the US. They have a core series of five German-style beers that is offered at all their locations - a very nice Czech-style Pilsner, their flavorful Hefeweizen, a hearty German-style Marzen, their crisp Golden Export, and a roasted Schwarzbier. I definitely recommend visiting any G-B location to try a sampler of these, plus several other rotating seasonals (I enjoyed the Mardis Gras Bock). Upon entering each restaurant, I am tempted by garlic aromas, and I am consistently impressed with their tasty menu. Their food menu has a good variety of appetizers, pizza, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and a good variety of entrees featuring poultry, seafood and meats. The New Orleans brewpub is conveniently located just south of the French Quarter, near Harrah's Casino (Harrah's garage accepts validated parking). G-B occupies the street corner ground floor of the large 10-story brick building. Inside there are large spacious dining rooms with dark wood furnishings. Out back there is an excellent open air brick patio with numerous tables and windowed retractable doors that open to the bar on nice days. The long straight marble topped bar has about 24 chairs. Past the bar are windows that look into the brewhouse with stainless steel brewing vessels and a row of 5 stainless steel fermenters. The service is friendly and effective. G-B is a nice place to stop for a cold beer while exploring NOLA on a hot day.

This GB located across from the casino in an area where the Central Business District and the Warehouse district seem to converge. It is only a few blocks from the quarter, but those few blocks make for a much more relaxing and dare I say more mature atmosphere. They attract a decent crowd that seems about 50% tourists and the balance locals. Its also right across the street from the casino.

There is a nice long bar at one end. The bar overlooks their patio, which is a neat little passageway between buildings. They have some very cool garage door like windows that roll-up to bring the outside atmosphere in. The bar is nicely decorated with Gordon Biersch posters and they made good use of color.

I’ve always had good service here. Some of the most professional and prompt bartenders in New Orleans seem to work here. They can discuss beer and are quick with samples.

The food is mostly standard brewpub fare, but they do have a few local twists. I like their take on red beans and rice and thought their jambalaya was also quite good.

They now offer 5 standard beers (up from 4) with a rotating seasonal. During my last visit it was a smoked version of their Marzen. Very tasty!! As with all GB’s no real beers for you hop heads!
