Good beer selection, with a about 8 in-house beers on tap in a variety of styles. The Wit beer and seasonal Jack-o-lantern pumpkin ale were my favorites. Pirate Pale, Bison Brown, and Bulldog Blonde were a little better than average. Unfortunately, the "Perfect" Stout did not live up to its name. I chuckle as I try to think how to score the service. The bartender was very friendly and kept the beer flowing. But he got my order wrong, and he got the check wrong for my neighbors. I was in the mood for a ribeye steak, but he placed order for a sliced ribeye sandwich. Well I felt easy-going that night and took the sandwich, which ended up being quite delicious. In any case, the real reason I went was the beer sampler, which was worth the trip!

Outstanding beer selection! I was on my bike riding through New Jersey, so I couldn't try them all, but the 2 I had (a brown ale and a kolsch style golden) were both great. The brown, moderately malty with some subtle sourness to it (a bit like Newcastle Brown, but more body to it), and the kolsch had a very intense grain flavor to it. There were a total of 8 beers on the list, all brewed on-site...they had most of it covered too, from IPA to Porter, everything $4.00 a pint.

Parking sucked (all I saw was on-street parking) but the atmosphere inside was very nice and quiet, even with a couple of different baseball games on. Bar tender was extremely friendly and seemed to know a great deal about the brew's he was serving. I didn't eat, so I won't comment on the food.

I will definitely be stopping in again the next time I'm through the Newark area.
