The city of Frankenmuth is a family destination hotspot rich in authentic German culture. There is a good variety of entertainment activities and many restaurants with German influenced cuisine and beer. The Frankenmuth Brewery is a large multistory brick structure with black trim. There is a small parking lot in front with additional parking across the street behind a hotel. There are several shops and places to eat in this area. In the front left corner of the building is the brewhouse with 3 large stainless steel brewing vessels visible inside. In the front right corner of the building is the fermentation room with a farm of 9 large stainless steel fermenters visible inside. Also in front is a tall beige grain silo, after which their tap handles are modeled. Inside, the architecture is multi-tiered with several spaces for dining. An upper tier dining room and upstairs patio, as well as a spacious lower level dining room, all look down onto a scenic river below. The bar room is on the left, which has an easy view into the glass enclosed brewhouse. The room has tall steel columns with sports flags and several televisions around the perimeter. Behind the 18-chair wooden bar are 6 stacked stainless steel serving tanks for their core beers. They have about 10 house beers on tap, which are available by glass or sampler flight. These are mostly German styled but with American influenced ones as well. None are remarkably special, but they are well crafted and quite drinkable. They sell growlers to go, as well as bottled versions of their beers near the entrance shop. Their food menu is expanded pub fare with appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and a few meat entrees. The service is friendly, professional, and attentive. This is a fine place for a cold beer in a very charming town.
