I visit Fort Street Brewery about once a week for lunch. The beer is always great and besides the standard beers on tap there are always one or two new cask beers tapped on Thursday night. The quality is top notch. They food here is also very good and priced very affordably. There are several tv's for catching up on the news or sports or for playing triva games. A great place, I wish I lived closer.

Very nice find on the south side of Detroit. Located about a mile off of 75, so fairly easy to get to overall. Very nice new location, basically a sportsbar feel with a nice long bar and very high ceiling.

Beer menu was pretty impressive - Lager, Up North (rye), and royale were all very good, and recommended. The Queen (IPA), porter and the scotch ale were also good, not exceptional but not a bad one among them. Also offer a sasparilla which is really an interesting drink, gives the place points for originality. They also brew their own root beer which was also quite good.

Overall, a real nice experience and worth the drive. Since it isn't in a downtown area, also offers free parking.

Probably my favorite brewpub in Metro Detroit.

Great food, cheap prices, liquor promos, and rotating food specials every week.

Pint prices are generally $3.00-4.50 which is cheaper than pretty much any other brewpub around and the beer is as good or better. There's about 8 taps and usually a nice variety of styles.

They tap a new cask or release a new beer(sometimes both) every Thursday. Usually the cask is a regular beer with something extra added to the cask, something sour, and sometimes just something completely random

This person needs 3 or more reviews on the site for their scores to start counting.

After only three years, Doug Beedy has brewed 199 different beers at the FSB. Not to mention 73 different casks which he presents just about every other Thursday. It is quite a ceremony with prize giveaways and a toast. Oh, and a lucky someone gets to tap the cask as well. I had the opportunity and it's a fun experience.
He gets VERY creative with his brewing and his cask conditioned offerings. The beer is superb and the food is as well. They recently upgraded the menu and have some very interesting selections now, such as, Scotch Eggs and Beer Stew in a bread bowl and more. I have a fan page I run with hundreds of pictures and much craft brew info and all sorts of interesting bits of news and the like. You can find it at- myspace dot com/docrick146.

If you get a chance, I highly suggest a visit.

Fort Street is a very solid brewpub on Detroit's south side. There have been 8-10 beers on tap when I've visited. There's a good mix of lagers and ales. The menu is mostly standard pub fare, and the food is served in very generous portions.

Fort Street is not in some super trendy neigborhood. It's a blue collar area that's seen better times, but Fort Street is a nice place to stop for a beer.
