I walked in on a Wednesday night around 9pm...and was the only person wearing jeans. Oops. The place looked high end from the inside and it's located in the Financial District, so it smelled like banker as soon as I walked in. However, on the way to the restroom I saw they had stools next to the kitchen where I believe the chef will serve those lucky 4 seats directly, which is pretty cool if you can sit there.

The beer list is expansive and like the other review said, broken up into descriptive groups like "satisfying". Funny, didn't see Miller Lite or Bud Light in that group despite what the commercials say. The selection was great and included a number of beers I had not come across before.

I think the best part were the bartenders. They were super nice and helpful in recommending beers. I had a flight consisting of St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, Black Oak Nutcracker, and Blanche de Chambly. The bartender gave me a sample of the porter on special as well, which I thought was a great and unexpected gesture on his part.

Understand the scene you are walking into, but the beer selection is worth it and the staff is excellent.

Beer Bistro is a trendy, "scene" type of place in down town Toronto on King Street.
They have approx. 2 dozen taps, many Belgians, Canadiens and U.S. Micros. Being a hop head, I first tried a Dunham IPA which was surpisingly fresh and very good. Also had an Urthel on draught, followed by an Avery IPA (bottle).
They also have a nice bottle selection of 50 or so beers, grouped by category such as "satisfying, "fruity," "spicy," etc.
The food is upscale bistro type, and their pots of mussels are very good, I recommend the "Brussels Mussels" made with Affligem beer.
It's pricey to eat, and the beer prices are fair in my opinion, for a big city.
For Toronto, a top five beer destination and quite convenient in down town. Servers are also friendly and cute.
