We stopped on my 50th birthday...and this place is not an easy place to find, tucked back and in with a tiny little low profile sign. I had to do some research to find this place before we got Kauai and they have no real website...what a shame. Loved their slogan, "Last beer before tomorrow" because they are the westernmost brewery before the international dateline.

I love dark beer and the Pakala Porter was great. The Porter was smooth & malty with a creamy head and coffee overtones. We only had appetizers, the sweet potato fries were outstanding. Husband had Garlic fries and they were very good. My delight with this brewpub was the conclusion of a birthday well spent and hey it's great drinking beer in paradise.

If you are vacationing in Kauai, I trip to Waimea Canyon is an absolute must. For a small town life Waimea, with it's lack of dining choices, it's a pitty that most visitors will have to endure the Waimea Brewing Company. It is arguably the WORST service I've ever had ... if you can call *getting seated and waiting for nearly 20 minutes before NOT being waited on OR even having the server make eye contact with us* service! I hope your beers are good, because that would be the only thing that should bring people back. Maybe their introductory sentence should change to the worstern most brewery on the west coast.

The only brewpub on Kaua'i, if you're on that island you gotta go.

Tried three beers there. Uli Uli Brown was my favorite. It's an English Mild, about 4% ABV, caramelly and tasty. Flavor might remind you a bit of Newcastle. The Cane Fire Red was pretty good. That's a style I like a lot, this wasn't my favorite example of it, but it was aiming in the right direction. The Pakala Porter was all right also.

The setting is very nice, you can choose the big open patio or the airy bar area. Service was very friendly and the food was standard pub food.

Review for a visit a couple years back.

This place is right on the main highway going to the Waimea Canyon, and easy to miss if not careful. At first glance, the building could be for a real estate office or something.

Walking through the front door, the bar is about 10’ in front of you. If you turn to the left, there’s outdoor seating… maybe 8 or 10 tables.

The food is standard pub fare, burgers, nachos and such. Prices are decent, maybe a scosh on the high side. The beer is decent enough. Nothing exotic, but hey, you’re on Kauai. Service wasn’t on the impressive side.

It’s a great place to stop before or after a trip to the canyon.
