Stopped in on the way back from OBX. Excellent beers! It was a hot day and the beers were pouring well. They had a shandy that was made with the OBX kolsch style beer that was off the hook. Unfortunately it was only available on draft or a couple of cases would have been bought. The Black Radish schwarzbier was also outstanding. We dined on a sausage platter with sauerkraut and it was fantastic. There is merchandise to purchase and also items from the butchershop. A definite stop on the way to or from the shore!

Went to the Weeping Radish full of expectations of great beer since their Black Radish is listed in places as one of the 25 beers to try before you die. I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. For absolute truth the brewery was having problems with their taps and that could have played into the less than stellar beers.

I had a flight of eight beers to sample. It consisted of; OBX Kolsch, Corolla Gold, Dunkleweizen, Black Radish, IPA 25m Radler and Weizen. All were drinkable but I wouldn't order a second round of either weizens. The Black Radish was good as was the OBX Kolsch and much to my disgust, the Radler was my favorite. Remember they were having problems with the taps so I'll go back the next time I'm in the area to get another read on the brews.

The food was good and the service was excellent.

Overall I was really disappointed to find out that the old Manteo location closed, it was a true beer garden. The only positive to the new location in Jarvisburg is it is a little easier to get there and you can easily get there either coming in or out of the Outer Banks.

The new location is a huge warehouse/brewery with a strong focus on locally grown/raised food. They have a really nice butcher shop inside the restaurant.

Overall I was disappointed in the food selection, it used to be a really strong german menu. I went after the place had been open for only 6 months and the menu was very limited which was disappointing. We were told they are in the process of expanding the menu, so we will hope for better things next time.

The beers are all available in 22oz bottles. The black radish and fest are both quite good. The root beer is also definitely worth a taste.

We just visited the Weeping Radish for the first time on our way to the Outerbanks. It is very easy to find as it is right off of Route 158 as you go to the beaches.
The brewery has a retail space as you walk in, a butcher counter close to the bar. This bar shares space with the restaurant. The atmosphere borders on the German beer hall model, but not as large or cold. (It is hard to figure out the space on their website.) There is an observation area upstairs where people can view the brewery.
Service was friendly and informative and the beer and food prices are reasonable. The grilled cheese and fries were some of the best I have ever had. They cut the fries to order, which means they are as fresh as you can get with the added bonus of being naturally crispy.
We decided to split a beer sampler which consisted of all eight of their beers for $6. The beers are well crafted. We especially like the Fest beer. I love their commitment to organic and locally grown food, and their environmental efforts. (They are big into recycling and fiscally reward customers when they return bottles.) A great find and a definite visit next trip:)
