BJ's Reno is just like many other of the BJ's chains. They actually brew here as it is one of the Regional Breweries. Today we have a Gordon's Imperial Red from Colorado on tap. It is a typical red in the standard but has bigger alcohol and hops, this is a great beer, the hops complement the higher alcohol and moderate crystal malt sweetness. The Octoberfest just came out and it had some toasty malt aroma followed by some malt sweetness. We came in for happy hour and pizzas are half off and all the appetizers are $2 off. Tiger Tail Amber Ale has some slight crystal malt flavor and moderate hops and is well balanced. Had a BJ's combo pizza with pepperoni, suasage and mushrooms but there weren't many mushrooms on the pizza but it was good. I Live in the Reno area and stop here often. The food is always good. Try the Avocado Egg rolls. The beers are generally good but what I really like is that they always have a few guest beers on tap. Last week they had Stone Brewing Company's Arrogant Bastard and IPA on tap, what a joy! If you are in Reno this is a good brewery to visit especially for the food.

Reno is one of BJ’s 10 brewery locations and boasts a 15,000 barrel capacity. Aside from the 2 large silos and an exterior window, the brewing operation is not noticeable from within the restaurant except for a few guys walking around in white coveralls and rubber boots. There is a nice long bar with adjacent tall tables and booths plus a large/split screen and multiple TVs. Across the way is a large dining area with tables, booths and more TVs.
There were 11 house brews on tap when I visited plus some ciders, imports and a couple guest microbrews. I enjoyed a seasonal IPA and a Doppelbock on my recent visits but also have liked TJ’s dark standards, PM Porter & Tatonka Stout previously.
The menu includes a large selection of sandwiches, burgers, pasta and pizza as well as many nice salads and appetizers. There are also upscale entrees and some great desserts. It’s located in the Summit Sierra Shopping Center so there is plenty of free parking.
