Decatur Georgia has three breweries making it a great place for an evening of beer touring. As if that's not enough, the Brick Store Pub is a superb craft beer bar. It is conveniently located close to a Marta station, and there are several bars and restaurants in this area. The building is two-story brick with limited patio seating along the front sidewalk. Inside is a social and energetic atmosphere, and the place has two bars. Downstairs is a U-shaped 20-chair wooden bar and several tables. Upstairs is a smaller 10-chair bar and more dining tables. They feature 31 flavors of global crafts on tap, which are very well chosen and rotate frequently. Additionally they have a couple dozen variety in bottles. Their food menu is relatively simple with appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and enhanced pub fare. The service is fine, where any server can handle any request. A visit to the Brick Store for great craft beer is sure to be enjoyable.

If you are a fan of craft beer and you are in the Atlanta-area, then going to the Brick Store is an absolute necessity. I don't think it is an overestimate to say that the Brick Store has the finest beer selection of any pub/tavern in the area. Every beer they offer is top quality yet they provide a wide variety. My only criticism (and it is a small one) is that it can be a bit too crowded on the weekends, but that is just a further indication of how good they are. Try going on a weeknight or in the middle of the day on a weekend. Their food would stand out as the featured attraction at most pubs, but, given the quality of the beer, their delicious menu can sometimes be an afterthought. Try to remember to go in a little hungry so that you are able to partake fully in their tremendous offerings.

Not much can be added to what the previous reviewers have said. This is a great beer bar and I will certainly return whenever I get the chance. I particularly enjoyed the Avery Maharaja and was pleasantly surprised to find the Lumpy Gravy seasonal from Lauganitas on tap; made me home sick. Watch out for the metered parking out front, it might end up costing you as much as the brews. Service was friendly but we didn't get a chance to sample the food on this visit.

In Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta, the Brick Store Pub is in a U-shaped road just to the left of the courthouse, which is on Ponce De Leon St.

Parking can be an issue. There is metered parking in front, but sometimes it’s not available. There’s a parking garage around the corner. Or better yet, just take MARTA and get off at Decatur.

An incredible beer selection, fabulous food, relaxed atmosphere and helpful servers make the place a winner.

The Belgian beer room upstairs opens for more intimate drinking or dining. (The fine Belgian beer can be had anytime the place is open.)

When in the area, this is THE place to go.

Located in the middle of Decatur, or "downtown" Decatur. The pub is located among several small novelty type stores. It's also right next to a stop on the MARTA rail system. This would be exciting, except for the fact that MARTA is a bad system (but I guess it's better than nothing). The MARTA may help since parking is so limited in that area. If you can park at a MARTA garage up one of the lines it would probably be easier.

From the outside there are two tables to sit at, which are probably hard to get when the weather is nice. Otherwise, you can wander indoors and seat yourself at the bar or a table. There is a downstairs area, as well as an upstairs area that has the Belgian beers. The pub itself is small, so the tables are crowded together, not to mention there aren't many of them compared to most restaurants.

The selection is good, with several beers on tap (including a mystery beer that features a rare hard to find beer) with a huge bottled beer list. There are some vintages available too. The beer prices are about average, nothing to compain or get excited about. The glassware arrives full of beer, un-chilled, and as the proper type (no hefe weizen in a pint glass).

The food is a step above pub food, but for the most part, it's still pub food. The biggest difference is the selection is better than a hambergur or a pizza. Once again, the food pricing is about average. The service is typical of any place with food.

Overall, the Brick Store pub is the place to go in all of Atlanta. Although there are Taco Macs (chilled glasses and too many kids) nearby, this place is worth the drive to get rarer beers and non-chilled glasses. If you visit Atlanta (and I hope you don't), and you want to visit one place, this is it.

Seems I keep following beerist and his/her reviews. Again, I couldn't agree more with beerist. This is one of my favorite places in the world ... beer or no beer. They just celebrated their 10th Anniversary and have prided themselves on only serving high quality craft and import products. No "big three" has ever been poured here.

Beerist covered the tap list pretty well but there are also 100+ beers in the bottle and some very excellent spirts too.

The first Monday of each month (with a few exceptions) they do a special cheese and beer pairing upstairs in the Belgian Bar. They also host some of the best beer dinners in the Southeast.

There are no TVs and the music is always at a level that you can hear the folks at your table without having to yell. Rare for beer bars now a days.

The biggest issue is parking but they are right above the Decatur stop on Atlanta's rail system (MARTA) and there is an excellent hotel two blocks away.

The Brick Store Pub is the standard for all other beer bars in Georgia (and is probably in the top 10 nationally).

There are two floors. The downstairs bar has 17 or 18 taps and a handpump (that's usually only utilized once a week). The upstairs Belgian bar has 8 taps that are dedicated to quality Belgian brews. The atmosphere is dark and cozy. It can get quite crowded during peak times, but I've never really felt uncomfortable even when I've had to wait for a while on a table.

The beer selection is absolutely top-notch. Where else can you find things like Oskar Blues Ten Fidy with cherries or their Duke of Lyons. The management is dedicated to always keeping the beer fresh, at proper temperatures, and served in appropriate glassware. They pride themselves on maintaining an eclectic selection, free from any Bud/Miller/Coors products. They rotate their draft offerings very regularly and I can almost always find something I've never had on draft before. The prices are very reasonable also, ranging from $4 for standard pints of "regular" beer to $7 for an appropriate serving (.25-.4L) of a specialty Belgian beer.

Service has usually been good for me. Occasionally my server will disappear for a little while, but usually they're really good about keeping my glass full. They are also usually really fast with the food.

Speaking of food, I really like the food they have here. I almost always get the BS Pasta with andouille sausage. Some things I haven't been as crazy about, but there's something here that will please most people. I'd classify it as slightly upscale pub-grub that's pretty reasonably priced.

Overall, the Brick Store is an excellent place. I've never had a bad experience (and I've been here many times) and always want to keep coming back.
