I visited the Corner Brewery after attending the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Festival. The crowd may have been skewed more toward beer geeky-ness than normal because of that.

From the outside, the building could house just about anything. It's brick exterior would be fitting for a school or a factory. Luckily for us, they're making and serving beer.

The interior is spacious. The main bar and seating area is to the left and a stage is on the right. Sofas and comfy furniture are plentiful. Board games are available to keep your group occupied. It's too spacious to call homey, but they put lots of comfortable touches in this industrial interior.

Beyond the bar lies the entrance to the beer garden. There is a covered back porch along the building and picnic tables in the yard. There is no table service in the beer garden, so you do have to wander back inside for refills.

The food menu is limited, but you can bring in your own grubb, or have pizza delivered to you if you wish.

The Corner Brewery is a good place to gather with your pals and enjoy a couple beers.

I like this place... so the review'll reflect that...

walking into this place on a day where half the seating is taken up by dementedly curious local crafters and such still makes the place ginormus.

the beer selection was 9 beers... and they were solid... I stuck with ones I hadn't had... the tree fort, ipa (i've had the ipa and i like it so) and a half glass of the scotch as it ran out on my glass... the blackberry white ale wasn't on, and they hadn't tapped it otherwise i'da begged for it... sounded good. The beers I sampled were good, so there's that... fresh from the tap is one thing, but their bottles are ok to meh pending on...

atmosphere was good wide open spaces and people partaking in foods and beers and such. the bar itself is huge, prolly 40ish seats in an l shape... booth's line the west wall and there's tons of space for tables big and small... really a great open space. it's got a big ass beer garden as well, with an auning that houses couches and comfy chairs for the sitting and such...

service was attentive... tho I've learnt at places like this they size you up right away, so I order 2 beers, especially when they do small pours, and then go from there. it's a locals joint as it's sorta out of the way... but doesn't have a locals feel... you can get a beer there and feel alright to have some conversation if you've bellied up or whathaveyou.

didn't eat here...

really a good spot... if in the ann arbor area, you'll think you're going out the way, but when you leave it'll have been worth the trip.
