Beer selection was excellent, including 2 cask ales and a special blueberry mead. Also had around 10 beers on tap. Unusual selections as well as more normal varieties. Chai Stout and Chili Beer were both unusual and very good. Also had a regular stout, brown ale and 2 pale ales which were quite good. Oktoberfest and Bitter were average. Also serve a variety of root beer, ginger ale and cream soda brewed in house. Overall, selection was very good. Only microbrewery open in Fort Collins in evening and serving food. Bartender was knowledgeable and helpful.

Stopped off for lunch at this brewpub on my way north to WY this week. Very nice layout, friendly folks, and not bad food. It had a nice outdoor seating area that was dog friendly as well. The beer (4) I tried were all good, especially the pale ales. Nice and hoppy, but well balanced. I passed on the wheat, but those around me seemed to enjoy it. This would be a redo if I'm in the area again.

Quality control is up and down, but still a very solid brewpub.
The ales are hit and miss at times, the lagers aren't that great but the sour beers are phenomenal. The seasonals are hit and miss too.
Food is decent to good depending on what you order and the service is always good.
Punjabi IPA or Handjabi on the beer engine and the Not Brown Porter are the best offerings here.
Hit up the pool side with some friends and you are sure to have a great time.
Hard not to like this one, especially if you've met any of the staff. Dwight the brewer is one of the nicest and neatest guys around and the staff is knowledgeable, quick and give great service.

Coopersmith always has at least eight beers on tap with my favorite being the Handjabi (hand drawn Punjabi). When it's on-tap, you gotta drink the Kriek.
This brewpub is mentioned in Daniel's Designing Great Beer for a reason. They use the right ingredients, serve in the right glasses, through the right dispensers and at the correct temperature.
I agree with the previous reviewer that said that it doesn't "feel" like a brewpub, because it really doesn't. They wait/bar-staff is always prompt and fun and the food is pretty typical pubfare. But what keeps me coming back is the quality beer.
If you go to the pool hall side, drink the California Common.

CooperSmith's is one of the original brewpubs in Colorado, a classic that maintains its place with good beer, good food and good atmosphere. Really a must-visit in Colorado.
I've visited several times, with friends who like beer and with family including kids. Always good.
They usually have at least 8 brews on tap, with something interesting often available. They try Belgian styles on occasion (my favorite) and do well, but the porters and wheats also keep me happy. They also brew root beer.
Atmosphere includes the regulars sitting at the bar, families in the dining room, a pool room across the way, something for everyone. The brewpub is located in Old Town, a couple square blocks of historic buildings that have restaurants, unique shops, limited parking and unique architecture.
Service is usually good, friendly.
Food is a step above many brewpubs. I brought a friend from Phila who considers himself kind of a gourmand. He kept raving about the food. I kept raving about the kriek. We both went home happy.

I have been to CooperSmith’s several times and always enjoyed it. The entrances are along a walkway/alley running between the brewery (pubside) and the poolside annex. There are decent sized bars in both areas as well as table seating and outdoor patios. You can guess where the pool tables and games are located. There were 10 house brews on tap pubside when we last visited plus a cider and 3 house sodas (additional brews are available poolside). Since I had already been tasting a bit, I settled for the Punjabi pale ale on cask which was quite good. On prior visits I have enjoyed the Horsetooth Stout and the Jitterbug Porter. I ventured down to the pub cellar and found the cooper’s aging barrels which contained a Belgian Kriek beer made with cherries that may take up to 3 years to mature. Looks like a return visit is required. We found parking on the street but there are public lots in the area as well.

Coopersmith's has all the features of a great brewpub: location, structure, seating, great menu, wide selection of quality beers, trained service. But it comes away feeling like a resturant, not a brewpub. Hard to put your finger on, just the 'feel'.
I usually go with the Punjabi IPA (as an IPA man) but I branched to the Poudre Pale Ale and the Albert Damm Bitter. The Punjabi is just OK and kind of reflective of this brewpub--'technical', kind of a 'build-a-beer' if you know what I mean.
If you are in Ft Collins, you should try Coop's, I go back when I'm in town, but don't expect the 'feel' you'll get in some of the mountain town brewpubs west of here.
Annoyances: Bring your wallet. Coop's is spendy.
