We stopped by on a Wednesday around 4:30 for some beers and an early dinner. The place was pretty empty at this hour. We were seated quickly. The smoky aroma from the wood-fired pizza oven was very nice. We ordered a sampler of five beers including a Pale Ale, Winter Warmer, Scottish Ale, IPA, and Hop Odyssey. The server knew the ABV and IBUs of the Hop Odyssey (9% ABV, 100 IBUs) but none of the other beers. All the beers were good. The server told us that almost everything is made from scratch. As the place started to fill up our service started to really slow down. The two pizzas we ordered, although good, suffered from sitting under a heat lamp for several minutes before being served. There is plenty of seating indoors and in a covered outdoor area that is open during nicer weather. Free parking is available in the lot next to the brewery. The place is no smoking. Overall a nice experience and I look forward to visiting again the next time I’m in Columbus.

The Columbus Brewing Company is located a little outside of downtown Columbus in the area known as the brewery district (named for former breweries in the area, this one is the only one currently in operation). The building is free standing and has on-site parking.

The building is not huge, probably about 40 total tables which get pretty busy on Saturday nights. The menu was relatively extensive.

They have 6 beers on tap, Honey Wheat, Apricot Ale, Pale Ale, Scottish Ale, Porter and IPA. Apricot Ale is their big seller as a bottled beer and is the best option of these. It is a nice flavor that is strong but not overpowering. The rest are decent, pale ale and scottish ale were both drinkable but definitely not exceptional. The rest were average.
