With the expansion to the building they added an entire new room for nothing but beer, including a bar where you can choose from three drafts to have a beer while you shop.

Best selection in town and probably about a 45 mile radius.

Great service from a family owned business that has been open for generations.

A must visit when in the area.

Tons of local, American, and quality Imports.

Hard to find Belgians. Lots of special, limited release beers.

10 door cooler selection of chilled six packs and single beers.

Large keg selection as well, plus they can special order kegs.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet!

A trip to Winston (and Foothills Brewery) for me is not complete without a quick trip down 4th Street over to City Bev.

The space has expanded greatly, giving the beer selection its proper due instead of crammed together with the wine. There is a cooler in the "old" part with sixers and bombers of chilled beery goodness. But the new beer room is a sight to behold. Tasteful and stately wooden shelving display the bottles in their glory. If something new hits the state, City Beverage will have it. Their inventory is extraordinary! Prices are a bit higher, and the drive time is up there for me, but i do not bat an eyelash to drop serious coin here because Spencer does it right.

With the expansion, some beer taps were installed so you can sip some quality craft beer while you shop.

Again, if there's something rare in the state that you want, shop here and you will get it.

I dare say it's better than Sam's in Durham.

Parking can be an issue at City Beverage, especially during lunch time.

Over the years the selection of beers has expanded and they built out a back room exclusively for beers and now have several drafts that you can consume while you browse. The beers are beautifully laid out and shelves stocked in such a way that you feel you are in a wine boutique looking at vintage offerings.

The staff is always friendly and helpful if you ask and the store spotlessly clean. The prices tend to be just a bit higher than some, but they often seem to have something not found elsewhere. Drop in!
