linkThe Chelsea Brewing Company website is down, and according to Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/chelsea-brewing-company-new-york) and other things I've found on the web it seems as though this location is no longer open. I think they still brew and distribute locally, but don't have a bar or restaurant available to visit any longer.
And now I will add 24 additional words to help me reach the 75 word count minimum required by this website. The weather is nice today, although it is starting to get cold.

linkVisited the brewery on a Friday night. It is a fairly large old warehouse building with an upstairs and dining area with a really long bar in the basement. They had a band playing which was really loud, not the best environment for talking.
They had 6 or 7 beers on tap, they apparently focus on the blonde and red. The red was good, didn't have an aftertaste that that style sometime has. The blonde can be skipped. Also had a number of seasons - an excellent IPA and rye were on the list. Had a very strong stout, it definitely had a lot of alcohol, but there are better stouts out there, definitely on the sweeter side vs dry.

linkOne of a couple of brew-pubs I tried while in the NYC area. I was only able to try 3 of them as I was on my motorcycle just passing through. They had a nice selection, 6 or 7 if I remember right, and covered most of the bases. I had a California style IPA, which was very crisp and hoppy (like it's name should imply), a rye-ale (tasted very much like a maibock, but not quite as malty...not bad), and a red-ale, which wasn't bad, but wasn't spectacular. They had a stout on tap as well, but it being almost 10% and me being on my bike, I decided against trying that.
Parking is expensive if your in a car, but still cheaper than the surrounding NYC area (it was $22.00 for the day). Motorcycles are free to park! Obviously, taking the bus or a cab is the best choice so one can sample all of the nice brews they have to offer. It's even within walking distance of most of the hotels in the area.
Atmosphere is a bit on the yuppy side, with a view of the sailboats and yachts docked just outside of the bar at pier 59. It was still nice, had my riding gear on and didn't feel out of place. Bar tenders were busy and didn't really give much feedback on the brew. Beers were $6.00 a pint...seems kinda high now, but compared with how much everything else costs in NYC, that's not a bad deal.
Overall, not a bad place, I'm sure I'll be there again.
