I live in NM now because of military orders, not voluntary. Maryland is home and when I get to home for a week or two, I try to check out great beer bars or brewpubs that I missed the last time I was home.

I found this place only because I was looking for some limited release Flying Dog from their brewery which is about 15 mins but since they can't sell beer at their brewery(check out their site as to why that is) and she recommended this place as to a place that had the limited release beer. It was their raging bitch 20 anny in 750ML corked bottles.

Well, to my surprise, this place had an insane amount of beer, import and U.S. craft. I walked out of there with a 6pk of 750ml and 22oz bottles of belguim, english, japanese, and US craft breweries that ranged from Dogfish Head to Hitachino Brewery.

The best thing is if you 'make your own 6pk' of single U.S. and import 12oz bottles, you'll get a 10% discount for your purchase. If you make a case, you still get the discount. That is very rare of a places like this to offer any form of discount.

By far, the biggest selection in the western half of Maryland, great prices, and service is top notch. They'll even help you take your purchase to your trunk if you clean them out!! I can't say enough of this place. Go check em' out

Being a beer geek, this place is great. They easily have the best beer selection of any store in the Frederick area. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are overall really good. I used to be a beer guy at a liquor superstore in Texas and we had the best beer prices I'd ever seen. Ye Olde Spirits Shoppe is on the level; I've seldom seen better deals. Their Belgian selection is impressive, though not exhaustive, and their American Craft is extensive. I found some pretty interesting brews there today that have long since been off the shelves in other stores, but that are capable of aging gracefully. I'm a big fan of this place.
