been to this location a few times while getting my New Glarus fix.. Liquor/beer department is off to the side away from the rest of the large food store so quick in quick out..

Can find most of NG stuff, and other major WI mirco's but nothing to out of the normal... and i have never seen anyone working there other then the cashier the few times I have been in their...

Good for stuff you would expect to be there...

Its a very nice store, the have quite a bit of Wisconsin brews and US brews, quite a few import 6 packs, all in the fridge, and an aisle of import singles. They also have a good selection of mini kegs. Overall their selection is a tad above average, a lot of Illinoisans will like driving the mere 10 min out from the border to stop in for some new glarus, which they have a wide selection from.

There isnt much "service" but the cashiers are all friendly. You have to pay with cash/check/debit but its not an inconvieniece in my opinion.

This has become a habitual stop for WI craft beer when I travel under the cheddar curtain. Despite their limited hours, I still make it in here to get the latest New Glarus and Tyrenena stuff. They recently added warm shelves for import singles and bombers. Staff is still pretty nonexistent, but I did get an answer to my question from a young guy stocking the coolers with headphones on. Pretty nice prices on everything, they carry Stone, Viking, Central Waters, Rush River, and a few other beers from smaller WI craft brewers. You won't find rare stuff here, but the latest NG Unplugged is usually on the shelf. It's close to Captain Mike's now too, which is a good 1-2 stop right off the highway.

If you have been to one Woodman’s you know the layout of all of them. Food and alcohol are in the same building but different rooms, vintage wood paneling covers all the walls. The craft beer is in the corner coolers with the larger cases of beer a bit further down in coolers with plastic curtain covering them to keep them cold. I was hoping to find some limited release beers from WI breweries but I think the turnover is pretty fast here. They were well prepared for Illinois folks in search of Bell’s beers. There was a tower of Two Hearted with a hand written sale label taped to the top row. They had a full line of many popular WI breweries and some nice seasonals aswell. There were only a few things in singles and you can’t mix and match six packs like other Woodman’s.

I didn’t find any real gems but they had a good supply of local beers and needless to say I didn’t leave empty handed. On a side note, the cheese curd from the store didn’t have the squeak of freshness but it was gone before I got back to Chicago.

When driving from Chicago to Milwaukee, Woodman’s is just off of the interstate. There’s a beer/liquor store tacked onto the grocery store.

Nothing spectacular. Great for a grocery store, but nothing to make a special trip for. They did have some New Glarus, but nothing exotic.

Some of the beers are sold in singles, but it’s the exception, not the rule. Most are sold in sixers and most are chilled. There are, however, a few unchilled beers.

The wife bought some alcopops that were dirt cheap.
