Really good beer. I have been there enough to have had the opportunity to taste all of their beers that they have had on tap for the last year or two. Sometimes their beer selection is lacking but they always try to have beer that will appeal to all types of drinkers. A hoppy pale ale for the people who like IPA's, a clean pilsner for the light beer drinkers, a nice light wheat beer for fans of wheat beers (I'm not a fan because I have a celiac reaction to beers with large amounts of wheat). They have a really well balanced and plain american lager called Supper Club, I am not a fan because I like bigger, bolder beers but to inexperienced beer drinkers, Supper Club is some good stuff! Their seasonals are amazing. I like the Maibock(spring seasonal) the best. They also always have a bigger beer available to people. Usually it's a part of their "Square Series" which is comprised of beers like: Wild Rice Doppelbock, Dark Doppelbock, Eiesphyre, Eternal Flame and other high alcohol content beer. They also serve locally made wine and n/a beer.

They have a great summer atmosphere in their beer garten. Every Friday night they have bands and food vendors. Ask one of the main bartenders about "cheesehenge"! There is a lot of culture that you can get from talking to the bartenders about the history of some of the events like Bockfest, its really funny! There are nautical flags on the roof that spell out "Drink Beer Naked", again, ask one of the better bartenders about the history of that! The beer garten is dog friendly except for on Fridays. You will normally see about 7-10 dogs there on a normal day. There are a large number of "regulars" but they don't hog all of the bartenders attention. The bartenders actually like talking to new people!

I've taken the tour from a whole bunch of different people and everytime I have gotten a different tour. They all included the same basic information about how the beer is made, but each tourguide gives a different tour in the way that they take you around the brewery and the different tid bits of info they provide you with. Some tourguides let you drink straight out of the tanks! A few great tour guides that I've had were Kyle (big muscle guy), Marshall (facility manager), John (designated tour guide), and some young guy named Gittoi (weird Italian name...) who couldn't have been more than 22 years old! Definitely book your tour ahead of time online. Sometimes the tourguides are lenient and allow walk-ins but the normal size for a tour is around 25 people. Any more and the tours sometimes get too large.

They do not serve food, but its totally fine if you bring your own food and water.

Overall, I love that place and it's always a good time!

The place seemed like a movie theater, it had a nice big out door section that was totally empty. We went inside, they didn't have samplers, so we got small tastes of three of the beers, the maibock was sweet and syrupy, the wheat was not really good at all, I don't remember what the third sample was but we left after that. I've had some of their beer in bottles and it was ok, never really impressed with it, but there are better places around there, we probably wouldn't go back.

The crowd also seemed like regulars, we felt like we didn't really fit in and they didn't want to deal with us.

We were able to visit Capital Brewery over the Memorial Day weekend, also the opening weekend for the outdoor biergarten. Reserve your tours in advance via internet to make sure you aren't disappointed! Our tourguide was very funny, though slightly inappropriate...hey it is a beer tour.

We were able to taste several beers during the tour and then get more outside at the biergarten. There are not as many options as I remember from my last visit several years ago. They seem to be moving toward more accessible beers like American wheat and Supper Club classic American Pilsner. I'm not sure I like the trend, but I like some of the stranger styles.

The biergarten was nice, and filled up quite a bit by the time we left at 4:00 PM. Some days there is music, and many folks had brought picnic fixings.

Outdoor beer garden at its best. Summertime is the time to come and enjoy people watching, beer, and live music.

The beer sampling is sublime and the location is really a benefit to the whole atmosphere. It can get quite busy on nice days so go early, stake out a picnic table and enjoy.

If you find the right server, they will make your life easy by filling your sample glasses up constantly and really treating you right. Make it worth their while and it will be worth your's.

A Fine establishment with below average guided tours. Check out the gift shop for some rather expensive items you won't find for sale anywhere else (except for eBay). The beer garden is the place to be when the weather is nice-- with galores of pick nick tables, live music in the evenings and a large bar to accommodate. When its not so nice outside, stop inside for their gloubestaghb (-sp.?) bar where you will be hosted with Capitol's fine microbrews.
