One of the oldest brewpubs in the Indianpolis Area. The atmosphere is absolutely reminiscent of an old english pub with barister paneled walls and dark oak colors. Tiny Rooms segmented into small cozy dining areas great for an intimate meeting. The bar is small but the overall affect is one of charm and the feeling that you got tossed back to London for the afternoon.

The FOOD is wonderful with a selection of hearty, british style eats, shepherds pie, and pub grub mixed with American Burgers and several exquisite vegetarian offerings to boot. This isn't haute cuisine, it's small pub food so don't expect Slick and Fancy.

The brews are british Brit with distinct leanings towards english ale styles, which he does very well. If he offers a LAGER, forget it, it'll taste like an ENGLISH ALE. more than likely the small brewery is heavily infected with ale yeast and even the attempt at a Lager would be a lost cause. The ESB is always good with the hand pulled stouts a big plus. The beers are always excellent often with a Special or a Seasonal topping the bill with a flavorful punch. Never had a bad beer here. In addition, the tiny 3.5 BBL brewery makes for a personal style not typically found these days.

Often crowded, and quite popular in the summer. Try their VEGGIE CHIPS as a side or an appetizer.

I walked over here after leaving the other close by place... So one thing i didn't was eat so i will only speck off the beer.

Walk into this old house which was cool don't see that often for sure, also noticed it was started in 1990 which pretty old in in brewpub terms.

I went up to the bar since I was not eating and it was packed on a Sunday night, there was playoff football on the "one" tv and everyone seem to be watching that. I ordered a beer and stood by the bar. The ESB was fantastic and was a nice change from the Belgians I was drinking earlier. The group that there seemed to be regular and knew each other.

Seems like it could be nice cozy place the other beer i tried was the standard Pale Ale which was good as well.. They had two casks one was a high abv stout which i was not in the mood for. the other was a wee heavy. The locals seems to like this place as i seen people getting carry out and growler fills are available but not on Sunday of course.

Ended up having a few good conversations with locals and again they me feel at "home" I will be back when in the area. The bar tender was very busy but she seemed to handle the traffic well and responsive to everyones needs. People were there for the beer and everyone had nothing but good things to say about the owner and this establishment.

beer selection was 8 beers, 2 handpull. My favorites were the extra special bitter, amarillo ipa, and pilsner... but the esb by far. the two on handpull were a porter and ipa.

Atomsphere is weird to a guy from IL who is used to seeing buildings not houses for brewpubs, but that makes it good, finding out that it used to be a hardware store turned brewpub makes it cool, it having it's own real dart stube.... priceless. The interior of the place gives a lot of privacy as there are a lot of little alcoves and corners where tables are away from the main chatter of the room with the bar.... and that room isn't that big. The bar itself seats 8 and the total for the place could easily fit 60.... it's a large joint, just sectioned off enough so it seems cozy... on better days the outside seating'll be packed. seating another 30ish or so... The vibe inside is very british, and american all in the same breath... sitting at the bar.... there are fun things to notice... on the left side there's a plastic shark with a cider bottle in it's mouth.... growlers adorn the bar around the top on a shelf... mostly regional places, some gone, most not... the small beer sign, "free beer tommorrow" always makes the drunks laugh.. they have a total of 2 tv's in the place, and they're not plasma... It's very laid back place to drink....

Service was good cause of the rain... we ate, drank and were merry.

Food was pub food, with good and fresh pub chips... had the chicken strips and chips, good fried chicken... woot.

Note to the out of towners... the east side entry onto the highway is shut off (to get to I-65/I-70)... I don't mean just one entryway... All of them.... if you go here up to thanksgiving 07, enter and leave from the west....

Protip: if you're in a bbq mood.... the place next door is called hogshead bbq... awesome in a slap your mamma sorta way..
