I have been here a couple of times now. While its not a world class beer bar, it is not a bad option of you find your self in the neighborhood.

As you enter, you will see an ornate bar & back bar. There are a few tables in front and more behind the screen. Note that they have broken-up the bar into several small areas by use of wooden screens. It makes the place seem more intimate.

They offer a solid English & Irish tap choices. You can get a Murphy’s, Guinness, Smithwicks, Boddingtons, etc. Note that they use proper pint glasses. The only micro I remember being offered is Anchor.

The service is decent and you won’t wait to long to get your glass refilled.

The food is standard Irish Pub grub with a few California twists (can you say Thai Chicken salad or seafood chowder). Filling and decent.

Seems to attract a good crowd. It is a good place to watch a game as they have several flat screens tuned to sports.

Now for my story, I was here with a buddy for beers and dinner and we sat in the front part of the bar. They had an Irish folk singer in the larger back room. We could not see him as one of the wood partitions screened out view. He was very good and had that great Irish tenor sound. We thoroughly enjoyed his performance and banter with the crowd. It was only when we stood-up that we realized he was in drag with full make-up!! Only in San Francisco would you see this!! We had a great time!!
