Alas, Freddy's was a favorite seafood go-to for its not real long existence and always had a very nice range of beers. It is closed. In its place is Crow and Barrel, an upscale pub with a dozen taps and a fairly long bottle list. If you went to Freddy's to drink, you won't be disappointed with the replacement, but increasing choices in lower Montgomery county make it less of a beer destination than it used to be. Food has earned a good reputation: entrees center in the upper $20s. ---Bob & Ellie Tupper, authors, “Drinking In the Culture, Tuppers’ Guide to Exploring Great Beers in Europe.”
