Pigeon head brewing co. This is a small brewery in downtown Reno. First beer I had was a Pilsner, some sweet corn malt flavor and lightly hopped. The next beer was a Red Rye lager, slight rye malt flavor with lite hops to balance, this is a good beer, more leaning toward a session beer. The next beer was their India Pale Lager. This beer has a good hop flavor with some lingering hop bitterness. The next beer was their black lager, big coffee aroma upfront, nice flavor balance between dark malt and hops, this is a lite beer mouthfeel wise and a session type beer, you could certainly drink several. The next beer was their sour schwarz beer, lite Bret sourness kind of overrides all other flavors, but there is some lingering astringency. The last beer was their Black Wheat wine. Hmm, tasty malt followed by moderate hop bitterness. This is a good beer and hides the 11% alcohol. I guess my only gripe here is that each beer comes in a small mug type glass, these hold about 4 ounces and for $1 each they only fill them about 1/2 way, so I had 6 beers, about 12 ounces total and they were $6...I guess that's fair.....but I would have been a lot happier if they had filled the glasses. No logo pint glasses, but they do sell cool ceramic growlers.
