This place is located in downtown Santa Monica, so can be hard to find parking if you go during primetime. They have been in business since 1920 and are about what you might expect considering that. There is all sorts of memorabilia on the walls, ceilings, and table tops - pretty cool. I guess I'd say it has kind of a malt shop feel but serves over 100 kinds of beer instead of ice cream. The draft selection was well-rounded but nothing special. I had an Anchor 'Our Special Ale' because it was $3.75 - the glasses are 12 oz.
The food was just okay but not bad. That is to be expected for a place that has the most diverse menu that I have ever seen. The bottled beer selection was equally diverse. There were about a dozen imports that I've never heard of and a few domestics that I've heard of but never seen available in California.

All in all, I recommend that you stop in for a beer or two if you ever find yourself anywhere near the area.

Oh yeah - the waitresses are hot!
