Three Forks brewery, Nevada city, this brewery is in old town Nevada city, eclectic brick building is not only a brewery but a restaurant and bakery. They have a real Brick pizza oven, and a 4 sampler of beer. I had their pale ale first, this has a nice citrusy aroma and flavor, a really good pale ale not overdone, west coast style but well balanced with a good hop and malt character. The next beer was the Endangered Red Ale to support the Yuba salmon. This is a really good ale but a nice hop and malt balance. The next beer was their Redoubtable Imperial red ale, this is a big in your face red ale, no doubt imperial, nice hop and malt presence, worth the stop and a growler fill, this is an EXCELLENT beer. The last beer was their imperial IPA, Dynamite Double IPA, this is another big beer in both hops and malt/alcohol. I would take a growler of this if the imperial red wasn't even better. . We had a sandwich, a spicy marinated chicken sandwich on a homemade chiabatta roll that was pretty tasty (and pricey at $10 with just a little slaw on the side).
Well worth the stop but bring your wallet.
