Located very close to the Davis square stop.

There is an upstairs and down. The down has tables and a bar, where you can wait during busy periods. This place seems to get very crowded very quickly.

The beer selection is great, with a good mix of local and foreign beers. There is a cask and plenty of option on tap, along with a bottled list.

The BBQ food is great, and they have vegetarian options as well.

The walls are well decorated, giving the place a lively feel.

Good beer and BBQ - there's something for everyone. I feel I'll be going back there at some point.

As a vegetarian it surprises most of my friends the first time when I suggest going to RedBones BBQ. Quickly they realize that I'm not going there for the food, but for the beer. RedBones has the best beer selection in Davis/Porter, hands down.

I prefer going downstairs, and I suggest waiting for a table down there if you can. The atmosphere downstairs is my favorite of any location in the Boston area. There is colorful art all along the walls and ceiling, and generally good music playing in the background. You can also wait by the bar for when your table is ready, since most nights at least some wait is expected. I promise you won't miss them calling your name out.

There is a bar upstairs as well, and a pretty standard BBQ restaurant decor in the primary dining area. Being originally from the South, I felt right at home. The wait staff is generally very attentive and helpful, and may be able to help you with beer selections, but if you have any beer-specific questions I would suggest asking the bartenders. They are always helpful, and help steer me in the right direction.

The thing that bring me back to RedBones is that the draft beer selection changes out very quickly. Sometimes within the hours that you are there! don't trust the board behind the bar, trust the paper sheets and the bartenders. Since they go through so much beer, it keeps the selection fresh, and always good. They also clean there lines regularly, and I've never had a skunk beer. You'll find the draft selection to be very good, and indicative of the season. They also have a decent Belgian and bottled selection as well. The beers are also always served in the proper glassware, and at the proper temperature.

I suppose I should cover the food quickly. I've heard the BBQ is very good for Boston, but only decent if you are really into BBQ. The sides are where it's at from where I'm concerned. You can easily make an entire meal out of them, something that I do every time. There are decent vegetarian selections to be had as well, and even vegans will have options. I suggest getting the fried pickles and peppers. It's not on the day-time menu, but they'll make it for you anyways.
