On rolling hills just south of mountains, the city of Laramie is home to almost 35,000 people. It has 3 local craft brewpubs, located within a couple blocks of one another, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink in this area. The city buildings are one or two stories, and parking is free along the street. Laramie is home to the University of Wyoming, and The Library plays on that theme. It is a short two-story building with a bright yellow awning over the sidewalk. They have a tall, skinny white grain silo at the street corner. Along the sidewalk is a narrow covered patio area, with a garage door that opens to the interior. Just inside is the bar area with a J-shaped 12-chair wooden bar. The floor is wood, and the high ceiling is painted black. The walls are yellow and white and are decorated with beer and sports items. In one corner is the brewhouse room with windows that allow you to see inside. They have midsize stainless steel brewing vessels and 3 midsize stainless steel fermenters. They have 9 house beers on tap, which are available by glass, sampler flight, or growler, and my favorite was their IPA. They also stock a few common bar standard national beers. Past the bar area is a spacious dining room with plenty of tables. On the 2nd story are more tables and a couple pool tables. The names of great books are painted on each stair going upstairs. True to their names, this sports grille has plenty of large screen televisions, as well as a reading theme. There are shelves of classic books, and their logo is a pipe smoking Sherlock Holmes. Their food menu consists of bar fare appetizers, salads, burgers, paninis, sandwiches, wraps, pizza, and a few pub entrees. The staff is friendly and proficient, and they move fast to keep the drinks flowing. The atmosphere is lively, especially when a popular game is on the television station. For a sports bar, it is a good beer offering.
