the first time i ended up in ZAX was due to the saint arnold scavenger hunt clue leading me to their men's room. i had lived across the street from their location for three years without ever stepping foot inside because the exterior leaves much to be desired. don't let the uninviting facade deter you, the food is good and the beer selection will keep you impressed. they have a rotating pint night every wednesday offering up a good selection of national beers, with the occasional cask on hand as well. the bartenders are very friendly when not overcome by the crowd waiting for a table. and if you have a chance, ask about the pint of beer that always seems to be sitting in the mini fridge behind the bar. we've never received a straight answer about it.
