The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema franchise has, in my opinion, a consummate business model, where the combined dinner and a movie concept works very well. They masterfully deliver modern cinema to the public, while also providing a pleasant dining experience with attentive service. The construction is similar to other modern movie theaters, but in front of every row of seating is an illuminated narrow table for plates and drinks. Entrance to each show is controlled like boarding an airplane, initial meal ordering starts before the show, and service continues quietly throughout the movie by writing your order on paper. The craft beer and food menus are well crafted and dynamic. Alamo Drafthouse is a fine place to try craft beer and consume a well prepared meal, while also enjoying big screen cinema. Lake Creek is one of Alamo's several locations in Austin. There is plenty of parking and shopping nearby. The lobby has a few small tables and a bar with 36 taps of beer, a mix of Texas and national craft brews.

The Lake Creek Alamo is geared towards suburbanites and the atmosphere is not nearly as eclectic as you find further south. The beer selection is excellent and could compete with any of the area beer bars. The food is simple and while a little overpriced it is not nearly as high as at the AMC Cineplex.

The rotating taps, local brews and cask ales make this a must do for beer lovers.

How can you beat dinner and a movie? Dinner, a movie and great brew.

This is the quintessential beer & movie chain for the Austin area. This location is more suburbanized than the downtown locations. That said, the seating is great and the movie selection is as good as anywhere.

The beer selection is good with most being regular beers and a few rotating specials. It would be nice to have a wider variety but, hey, it's a movie theater.

The food is mostly sandwiches, burgers and pizza but there is other fare as well. All of it can be a little pricey but hey, it's a movie theater (with half the seats replaced by tables).

Service is great - simply post your order on a piece of paper and someone comes by quickly to take it.

In all, it's a great place for a movie - and they server good beer! They have special events from time to time as well. Beats the heck out of the McMovie theaters.

Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek is a great place to sit back and watch a movie while enjoying a great draught brew and watching a flick.

There is a decent variety of beers available, from local breweries, craft brewers across the country and imports as well. The food is pretty good, I recommend their 'Enter the Dragon' pizza.

The Drafthouse also offers a number of themed events throughout the year. Last Spring they brought Adam Avery of Avery for a night of beer tasting of Avery staples as well as an experiment, Pig Purgatory an attempt to bring the flavors of Hog Heaven to a beer with I believe half the IBU's. Not sure what happened to this - TX was not a test market. What a great experience - I wish they'd have another brewer spotlight beer tasting.
