Caldera Brewing company, Ashland Oregon. This is a newer facility on the south end of town. Very modern building with the most bottles I've ever seen on the wall, over 5000 and counting. The first beer was called Dry Hop Orange but only for its color. This was a good beer but I only had a small sample of it. It tasted like a dry hopped Pale Ale, nice citrus flavor.. The next beer WAS the Dry hopped pale ale. This beer was malty and had a good hop flavor, a good example of the style and a really good beer. The next beer was their IPA, this beer has a good hop flavor but is not big hopped. But it has a good lingering hop flavor, not a ton of hop aroma but still a good beer, I could drink it all day, almost somewhere between a session and a regular IPA. The next beer was the Hopportunity Knocks IPA, just a little maltier and just a little hoppier, another good beer, even better than the last one....this beer has Centennials only...no wonder I like it.....next up was the Hop Hash IPA, this one has more aroma than the others and is another really good beer. The last IPA was their Cauldron Brew, a malty Double IPA, another really good beer. We ordered the Calzones, a veggie and an all meat, that were really good. The waitress brought me a Citra Pale ale that was really good as well. She also brought me a Dry Hop Red which has a nice flavor with an almost lactic taste but not from a beer fault, just from those red malts like biscuit, another good beer and last was the Big Island Caldera Red Sea ale, this beer has a slight molasses aroma, it's an imperial Red ale and alone is worth the trip here....I can't believe I am the first person to rate this brewery as they were busy and I believe I will add them to my top 15 breweries. It's a must stop! They have glassware for sale but did not have any coasters. Visited on July 19, 2014.
