The Yard of Ale tavern is awesome, featuring two bars and the best beer selection in Stroudsburg! The three-story brick building has a large arcing steel framework over a recessed front entrance, with a stainless steel "Yard of Ale" sign overhead. Parking is metered along the street. Inside the place has dining tables in the center, a 10-chair straight wooden bar on the right, and a multi-sided 12-chair wooden bar further back on the left. There are several televisions behind the bars, and downstairs is a game room with pool tables, air hockey tables, darts, and a few video games. The place has brick walls, wooden floors, slightly dim yellow lighting, and a warm social atmosphere. Their food menu is better than average pub fare, or you may consider other upscale dining options nearby. The service is cordial and very knowledgeable about their beer offering. They are quick with the pours and are happy to share a sample if you are unsure about a beer. They have 32 beers on tap - a magnificent offering from many excellent American breweries. These can be had by full size glass or sampler size. They also have a very impressive list of about 90 bottles - a great mix of bar standards and fantastic American crafts. The Yard of Ale is a family friendly tavern which will delightful any serious beer hunter.
