Severna Park Taphouse is a nice beer hotspot in a suburban area near the BWI airport. The Taphouse has a black and red sign in front and a dedicated parking lot. The building is one-story brown cinderblock and wood. Out back is a large enclosed patio area with several picnic tables and a higher patio area with a small outdoor bar. Inside the place is divided into a dining room on the right and the bar room on the left. They have a 3-sided 24-chair bar with a countertop inlaid with beer bottle caps. The floors and ceiling are tiled and soft rock background music is playing. The bar room has a couple green felt pool tables and several televisions for sports. Hanging over the bar is an extensive tap handle collection. The bar has about 30 beers on tap in the center, and about 60 varieties in bottles in a refrigerator case. These are mostly regional crafts with some domestic and imported brews. They often feature a tap takeover offering with heavy emphasis on a particular brewery. Their pub style food menu consists of appetizers, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. The service is approachable and quick with the drinks. The place has a happy friendly atmosphere, and is a popular local craft beer bar.
