Charleston is a good sized city nestled in a central West Virginia valley. The approaching drive is highlighted by the shiny gold dome of the state capital building. Parking is metered along the city streets, and there are plenty of places to eat in this area. Charleston Brewing Co occupies the ground floor of a 5-story brick parking garage. The space is a combination brewery and restaurant, run as two separate business due to brewery laws. The restaurant is called Blacksheep Burritos & Brews, and features all the Charleston Brewing beers on tap. Windows allow you to see the brewhouse inside. The small stainless steel brewing vessels are along the right wall, and in front is a farm of 8 squat stainless steel fermenters. A narrow front sidewalk patio is open during nice weather. Inside, there are plenty of dining tables and the bar area is straight ahead up a couple steps. A separate room houses a few more midsize stainless steel fermenters. The bar room has high top tables and a multi-sided 12-chair bar topped with thick timber. The walls are decorated with eclectic local art. Small lights housed in caps from gas cylinders add to the semi-industrial ambience. Rock background music is playing and there are muted televisions for news or sports. Large windows behind the bar look into the brewhouse, and are capped with corrugated steel awnings. A chalkboard lists their 9 house beers on tap, which are available by glass, sampler flight, or growler. Their beer was hit or miss for me, some were delicious, like their IPAs and Pilsner, and others were unimpressive. Their food menu consists of pub appetizers, salads, wings, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and a few sandwiches. The staff is courteous and adequate. It is a decent place for lunch and drinks.

Parking for this place is likely just street with some lots and garages. I walked from a hotel so I didn't look into it. The signage is a little inconspicuous, you'll probably need to rely on maps and street numbers or a GPS to spot it unless you know the area well.

Pretty expansive place right in the downtown area near the river. Both table and booth seating with a fairly lengthy curved bar in the back wall. The brewing equipment is visible as well.

Depending on the availability of each beer there are 7 or 8 available at a time. Didn't see any cask. All the beers are typically more English since apparently the owner is from London. They range from light to dark, and are mostly lower on alcohol. The food menu isn't that big, again, a lot of English influence. But the food was pretty good.

Not a bad place to go at all, and is in walking distance of several hotels, and isn't too far from the river.
